Obituary

Sandra Kay (Stacy) Montgomery, 74, of Rand, WV, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on August 20, 2023, after a long illness.

Born on June 6, 1949, in Logan, WV, she was the daughter of the late Earl and Pauline (Cantrell) Stacy.

Sandra was preceded in death by her only child, Michael Wayne Kouns; a sister, Faye Marcum, and her husband Dicky; a brother, Edger Lee “Buddy” Stacy; a niece, Debbie (Spurlock) Collins; a niece, Paula Stacy; a great nephew, Jason Spurlock, and her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Robert and Betty Montgomery.

She is survived by her loving husband, Howard “Yogi” Montgomery, who saw to her every need. They lived in Rand with their fur babies, Lexi, LeeAnn and their new baby, Winston Charles Montgomery. They brought her great joy.

Sandra is also survived by three sisters, Joyce and her husband Eugene Spurlock of Keith, WV, and their children Eugene “Jr.” and Sherri Spurlock and family of Racine, WV, Christina and Mark Hancock and family of Marmet, WV, Dotty and her husband Dennis Aliff of Ballard, WV, and Connie Rose, who she thought of as another sister, and Becky and her husband David Pettry of Hurricane, WV, and their children Amanda Alderman and Scotty Blevins and family, Nathan and Jan and their family. Also surviving are Faye’s son, Dean and Melissa Marcum and family of Kenna, WV, Kim and Kevin Britton and family of Danville, WV, Deborah and Brandon Workman and family of Logan, WV, Terry Lee Davis of Racine, WV, along with her sister-in-law, Sandy (Racey) of Pikeville, KY, nieces and nephews, Ryan (Jamie) McComas of Huntington, WV, Crystal (Jerricho) Eversole of Brookville, IN, and great-nieces and nephews, Haley, Payton, Bryson, Hannah, Madison, Kelsey, Dalton, Braylea and Elijah.

She was loved by a host of friends that she made over the years working as a caretaker. Sandra loved caring for people.

Memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, October 26, 2023, at Barlow Bonsall Funeral Home, 1118 Virginia Street East, Charleston, WV, with Pastor Eugene Spurlock Jr. and Pastor Bernard Sheely officiating.

Visitation beginning one hour prior at the funeral home.
