Obituary

God’s heavenly choir has gained a new voice.

Sally lowes patterson passed away at age 89 on monday, august 20, 2018 at the bowers hospice house, beckley.

She was born in oil city, pa to the late ross and gladys lowes. They moved to charleston where she graduated from charleston high school.In addition to her parents, sally was preceded in death by her husband, pat patterson, granddaughter, emma and grandson, chris; and step-daughter, nancy.

She is survived by her brother, ross (barbara) lowes; three daughters, diane, cindy and elaine ellis; grandchildren, carol and jenny; great-grandchildren, brittney and daniel. Sally was also blessed with step-daughters, suzanne, kathy and sherry; daughters of her heart, teresa and pam; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Sally was a member of christ church united methodist, charleston and sang in the choir for over fifty years. She was active with the light opera guild, the children’s theater, garden clubs and the girl scouts.

She loved anything to do with gardening and flowers, photography, poetry and chocolate.

Not only did she never meet a stranger, but she always had a compliment, to make others feel good. She was a blessing to all who had the privilege of meeting her.

The family wishes to extend a special thanks to all of sally’s many caregivers.

Committal and entombment service will be 11 am thursday, august 23, 2018 at cunningham memorial park, st. Albans.

In lieu of flowers ““ the family suggests donations may be made in memory of sally to: christ church united methodist, 1221 quarrier st, charleston, wv 25301 and / or the alzheimer’s association, 1601 2nd ave, charleston, wv 25387.
