Obituary
Sarah kyle noble lived 91 years with a heart full of love. She died peacefully in her sleep on april 2, 2015 after a short illness.
Service will be at the baptist temple on saturday, may 2 at 2:00 p.M. Visitation will be held an hour before. Private interment will be at spring hill cemetery.
Born on may 23, 1923 in charleston, wv, sarah lived her first 86 years within a two-mile radius of her birthplace. She was a proud member of charleston high school’s class of 1940.
The devoted wife of ross noble for 62 years, home and family were essential to sarah. Her arms reached wide to anyone who walked through her front door.
Her friendships extended from her peers to her children’s friends. It was not uncommon to have a high school friend or college roommate drop by to visit, even if her children were not home.
In addition to raising her three children, sarah worked outside her home as a kelly girl, was assistant to the branch manager at allis chalmers manufacturing company and was executive secretary to the future governor of west virginia, gaston caperton iii, a service of which she was especially proud.
Sarah spent hundreds of volunteer hours reading to grade school children at watts elementary, a school where her mother taught fifty years before. She lived by the words from her favorite poem: “one hundred years from now”¦the world may be a little better because i was important in the life of a child.”
sarah was an active member of asbury united methodist church: singing in the choir, teaching sunday school and playing her much-loved hymns for church meetings. Nothing delighted sarah more than wearing a wide-brimmed hat and white gloves for sunday morning services.
Sarah was an avid reader and writer. Her intellectual curiosity extended from the writings of thomas jefferson to plato and encompassed classic american novels as well as english poets. She filled stacks of journals with thoughts, quotes and travel memories.
After her husband’s death, sarah left her home in charleston and moved to pittsburgh, pa to be closer to her children. At presbyterian seniorcare, sarah quickly adjusted to her new home and began welcoming other newcomers with a warm smile or a note slipped under their door.
Sarah noble was a beautiful woman inside and out. She loved and laughed and lived every moment she had on this earth with enthusiasm and a desire to help others. She was an eternal optimist. Few could compare to sarah’s indomitable spirit.
In addition to her husband, ross noble, sarah is preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers: martha k. Roberts, mary k. Jackson, ruth k. Lipps, jeannette k. Hale, fred kyle and william kyle.
Later in her life, sarah replaced “goodbye” with “bye for now.” those that love her, hope that is true.
She will be dearly missed by her three children, dr. David ross noble, kay noble eckert and nancy noble peck (j. Marshall peck) and her cherished seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in sarah noble’s name to presbyterian seniorcare, benevolent care fund, 1215 hulton road, oakmont, pa 15139.
Barlow bonsall funeral home has been entrusted to handle the arrangements. Condolences may be sent using the send condolences button above.

I Did Not Know Mrs. Noble But I Know How Hard It Can Be To Lose A Loved One In Death So I Wanted To Say I Am Very Sorry For Your Loss. The Scripture That Has Given Me Comfort At Times Like This Is The One Found At Revelation 21:4 That Says, “And He Will Wipe Out Every Tear From Their Eyes, And Death Will Be No More, Neither Will Mourning Nor Outcry Nor Pain Be Anymore. The Former Things Have Passed Away.” So God Has Promised That In The Very Near Future We Will Never Have To Experience The Pain Associated With Death Anymore. I Pray That This Gives The Family Some Comfort During This Difficult Time.

David, I Am Saddened By Your Mother’S Death. I Remember Her From Your Conversation And Your Parents’ 1965 Visit To The House On High Street. Reading Her Obituary, I Wish I Had Known Sarah Kyle Noble Better. She Was Surely A Fine Person, And It Seems She Is Responsible For Your Special Gifts, A Love Of Literature And A Talent For Writing. Each Of Us Owes His Mother That. Does One Ever Pay The Debt He Never Promised?
