Obituary

Segurid George Holden (Seggy) went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on May 19, 2025, having been a devout Christian since she was thirteen. As an adult she loved working with church youth and held multiple leadership positions and taught many Bible Study classes. It would be impossible to describe here the positive impact Seggy had on so many lives. Because of her great love for God and for people, she never met a person she didn’t like in some way, and met very few who she didn’t influence for good. She attended Bible Center Church for most of her Christian life.

She was preceded in death by her parents Carlyle and Eloise George, her sister Repronsel Pennington, her nephew Garfield Pennington (Garth), her stepdad Jackie Nutter (Jack), her brother-in-law Franklin Thomas Holden (Tom), her two sisters-in-law Clara Linkenhoger and Mary Bradie, her grandparents and other family members.

She left behind her husband of 58 years Douglas Holden, her son Christopher Holden (Breanne) of Michigan, her daughter Bethany Allman (Kevin) of Elkview, her granddaughters Chelsea Allman and Lindsay Allman of Elkview, Destiny Holden and Emily Ann Holden of Montgomery, her great granddaughter Lila Letterman of Montgomery, her brother-in-law and Sister by choice Edward and Mary (Betsy) Pennington of Florida, along with many nieces and nephews.

Some of her favorite things to do were go to yard sales, thrift stores and to help decorate for weddings and other events. Most of all her favorite things to do were to go to church, witness and to spend time with her family and friends. She had so many great friends who loved her dearly, including her closest, special friend Sharon Holcomb (Ron) of Elkview.

There will be a private celebration of life in late June.
