Obituary

Sharon Kay Armstrong, 76, of Charleston, WV, passed away peacefully after a brief illness on September 6, 2026.

She was born on June 23, 1950, to Clyde and Ruby Armstrong. Sharon was a 1970 graduate of Dunbar High School. She was a dental tech at Tincher’s Dental Lab. She was an internationally known artist. She scrimshawed knives for Corbet Sigman. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Donna McFarland.

Sharon is survived by sisters Diana Armstrong (Clyde Smith) of Bradley, WV, and Terry Hamra (Mike) of Mesa, AZ, and brother Jerry (Della) of Milton, WV.

A celebration of life service will be held from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 27, at South Charleston’s Women Club, 214 D Street, South Charleston, WV 25303.

Donations can be made to Hubbard Hospice House in Charleston.
