Obituary

Sharon rae mcginnis stutler, 66, of charleston, w.Va, went to be with the lord surrounded by her loving husband and family on august 14th, 2017.

Sharon is loved by her husband of over 45 years, larry david stutler of charleston, only daughter and friend jennifer, david mccallum and grandchildren, audrey rae mccallum and john joseph mccallum of charlotte, nc.

Those who knew sharon, know that she was a devoted wife, mother, and proud grandmother. She was a member of christ church united methodist of charleston. Sharon also enjoyed planting flowers, making wreaths, reading and collecting antiques. Sharon was a truly loving and caring person. She left an imprint on many hearts ““ her family, friends, students and teachers.

Sharon was born october 5, 1950, to the late ray and erma mcginnis of charleston. She is survived by her sister, gail welcher of charlotte, nc.

Sharon is a graduate of stonewall jackson high school, sullins college and wv wesleyan. Sharon received a master’s degree in elementary education from wv state.

Sharon was a dedicated educator for over 35 years in kanawha county as a teacher and principal in various schools. She had a passion for education and students’ success – teaching children, families and the community. Following her retirement, sharon worked at the state board of education, taught at marshall university, and was a member of the wv principals’ leadership academy as a mentor for new principals.

Funeral service will be 11 a.M. Thursday, august 17, at christ church united meth odist – church chapel with dr. Jay parkins officiating. A reception will follow the service at the church. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.M. Wednesday, august 16, at barlow bonsall funeral home charleston.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be given to the hubbard hospice house in charleston, wv.

Barlow bonsall has been entrusted with the funeral arrangements.
