Obituary
Shelli haddad, 53, of south charleston passed away unexpectedly at her residence monday, january 11, 2016.
She was a 1980 graduate of charleston catholic high school. Shelli was a self-employed beautician for 30 plus years and enjoyed the many long lasting relationships and friendships she made through her profession.
Two years ago shelli joined sage (urban garden group), a group sponsored by the charleston area alliance. Shelli helped plant organic vegetables that were given to day care centers, farmers markets and restaurants in the charleston area. This program was designed to help teach better nutrition to local residents. She also enjoyed planting organic vegetables at home which she loved to supply to her family and friends.
Shelli was preceded in death by her father, george a.M. Haddad.
She is survived by her children; tarrin and annalise and companion, earl bonaparte;
mother, bonnie haddad; sister, rebecca haddad johnson (kenneth) of south charleston, wv; niece, grace johnson; and three grandchildren, corey, cayden and e.J.
Shelli believed in the muslim faith and became a member of the islamic center three years ago. Her funeral service was performed by the islamic association of west virginia on wednesday, january 13, 2016. It was performed following the islamic tradition which calls for burial of the body by simple bathing and shrouding performed by the ladies at the center followed by prayer called janazah that took place at the islamic center in south charleston. Her body was laid to rest following islamic law in graceland memorial park, south charleston.

I Have Thought About You And Shelli Over The Years, Becky. Shelli Was Beautiful, Smart, Funny, Sarcastic, Talented Beyond This World With Her Voice And Hair And Make Up. Always Harrassing Me About My Hair And Then Deftly Fixing It Lol. Making Sure I’D Make An Appointment Before I Left. Lol. I Remember Hanging Out With Her At Her Shop On Mccorkle. Getting Dressed Up For Halloween-She Was A Master. My Best Memory Of Her Was When She Sang “Brand New Key” By Melanie And I Played The Guitar. She Sang Ann Wilson, Indigo Girls, The Judds (And You, Too!). You Were Beautiful Sisters With Beautiful Voices. It Was Wonderful For Me To Hang Out And Listen To Her Sing. I Am Truly Sorry For Your Loss. For Her Children And Your Mom, All Of Her Many Friends. I Will Always Remember Her Through The Music She Loved To Sing. Love You Becky. Susan.
