Obituary
Stella Fazio Quigley peacefully entered her eternal rest on November 9, 2024, with her loving son and daughter by her side.
The youngest of eight children, she was born on December 17, 1928, to Domenico Fazio and Rosina Pallone Fazio, immigrant parents from Savelli, Italy, in Calabria.
It was the love of the Lord that would take her far and near. Stella’s life was one of prayer, praise and Thanksgiving. She carried with her the Love of God wherever she went. Always looking forward to the next prayer meeting, her weekly prayer group and Women’s Aglow and retreats and early years of the Catholic Charismatic conferences and dancing before the Lord.
Her journey has taken her to London, Rome and Israel, plus Florida, Ohio, North Carolina, Virginia, Michigan and St. Louis. She enjoyed her annual trips to California to visit with her sister, Margaret. She traveled to Jamaica for many years to the mission fields. Making new friends wherever she went, Stella was always on the go and we are sure there are many other ventures unknown to us.
Passionate of family, meals and gatherings, holidays were always love and perfection. It was the same unceasing prayers for her children that do not go unanswered before our God. His love and mercy. “All things work together for good to those that love God and who are called according to His purpose.”
A prayerful mother, strong in her faith, and a devoted catholic, she never missed a Sunday mass or an opportunity to be at church. She has been a member of the Basilica of the Co-Cathedral of the Sacred Heart for 95 years, where she was one of the first Eucharistic ministers, baptized, made her first Communion, Confirmation and was married.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert “Bob” Quigley; sisters, Eva, Margaret and Irene, and brothers, Otto, James, Joe and Frank.
Stella is survived by her son, Robert Quigley, and his wife, Robin, with whom a loving Mother and son shared a special bond; daughter, Teresa Quigley; grandson, Christopher Quigley, and granddaughter, Katelyn Fisher (Troy).
Thankful to Sister Ida Chikara for her weekly visits and prayers, bringing the Joy of the Lord and Communion; Nancy Johnson, her catholic neighbor, for her daily visits and prayers.
“Thank you, Mother, for your Love of the Lord. May your light always shine that others may see His Glory.”
Mass of Christian burial will be held at noon on Saturday, November 16, 2024, at the Basilica of the Co-Cathedral of the Sacred Heart in Charleston, WV, with the Reverend Father Donald X. Higgs officiating. Burial at Mount Olivet Catholic Cemetery will immediately follow.
Visitation will begin one hour prior at the church.
Condolences may be sent to the family at www.barlowbonsall.com .
Barlow Bonsall Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.

I hope your dancing in the sky. And I hope your singing in the angel’s choir. I hope the angels know what they have. I’ll bet it’s so nice up in heaven since you arrived.
I will always remember those charismatic prayer meeting and the love shared there.
