Obituary

Stephen Edwin Comer, 70, of Charleston, WV, passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones, on June 24, 2022, after a long illness.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ernest and Rillie Comer, Everette and Ethel Arthur; his mother, Elenora Comer; and his granddaughter, Destiny Bailey.

Steve is survived by his loving wife, Virginia of Charleston WV; daughter, Michelle (& Robbie) Comer of Cross Lanes, WV; son, Jeremy (& Rosie) Comer of Charleston, WV; granddaughter, Tori Bailey (& Cody Campbell) of Charleston, WV; grandson, Caden Comer (& Abbigail Russ) of Charleston, WV; great-grandson, Denver Campbell of Charleston, WV; father, Willis Comer of Charleston, WV; sister, Debbie (& Richard) Houck of Hurricane WV; and many nieces and nephews.

Steve was a Vietnam Veteran and was very proud to have served in the United States Air Force. He was a master electrician and retired from the McJunkin Corporation. Steve loved the outdoors, fishing, hunting, gardening, and photography. What he looked forward to, and enjoyed the most, was time spent with his family.

A gathering of family and friends will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 29, 2022, at Barlow Bonsall Funeral Home, Charleston, WV, followed by burial at Donel C. Kinnard State Veteran’s Cemetery, Dunbar, WV.
