Obituary

Steven anthony ray thaxton lost his battle with addiction on december 29, 2017. The  whole family was aware of and was powerless to protect him.
Anthony and becky loved their son and did everything within the means to help him turn his life around and unleash himself from heroin. Steven was born and raised in charleston. He was musically gifted. He blessed us all with his love of the guitar and was a very talented bassist, pianist and song writer. Steven was a kind and caring soul. He loved jesus and his family.
He was survived his parents, anthony and becky thaxton; his maternal grandmother, freda holmes; his sister, kristal a. Reeves, her husband, george; his uncle, ed thaxton; his nieces and nephews, austin powell, emily elder, gwendolyn and brawley reeves, braydon, breelynn and brooklyn powell; and his cousins, damion, demi and nikki.
Steven was preceded in death by his grandmother, pasty i. Thaxton, and grandfather, denverr holmes.
Funeral service will be held at 1 p.M. Thursday, january 4, 2018, at barlow bonsall funeral home, charleston, with pastor raymond jordan officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the family cemetery.
