Obituary

Steven Paul Thomas, 64, of Charleston, WV, passed away October 17, 2024, at CAMC Memorial.

He was born on March 14, 1960, in South Charleston, WV, to parents Louis Edward Thomas and Trecia (Parsons) Thomas. Steve was a graduate of South Charleston High School. He was a longtime employee of the State of West Virginia, working for the Department of Motor Vehicles for over 31 years at the Kanawha Mall location.

Steve was an avid chess player from a young age, regularly winning against people older than him. He was also a gamer, beginning at the age of 12. He loved board games, role-playing games, trading card games, along with attending almost every game cons in the area and out of state.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Jimmy and Bob.

Steve is survived by his best friend, Bill Wise of Charleston, and his close-knit gaming family.

A memorial service at Shawnee Park in Dunbar, WV, will take place in the next couple of weeks. The time and date will be posted here and on Facebook.
