Obituary
Steven parker weekley, 19, of huntington, our charismatic and beautiful son and brother, died unexpectedly on may 9, 2018. Parker will always be remembered for his zeal for life, his unconditional love of all people, his kindness, and his genuineness. His contagious smile, laughter, and charming personality has warmed the hearts and positively impacted the lives of countless members of his family, his friends, and everyone who knew him.
Parker was an individual who loved outdoor activities, music, athletics, and so much more. He was a skilled fisherman and hunter. He listened to a wide variety of music, including jimmy buffet, cody jinks, george strait, lil peep, and mr. Carmack. He was a great high school lacrosse player, and was even offered numerous scholarships to play collegiately. Before high school, parker participated in a multitude of sports, like football, baseball, golf, basketball, and motocross. He was also an experienced skateboarder, an activity through which he had made many lasting friendships. He was a coffee enthusiast and worked as a barista in high school. Parker had also learned the ins and outs of muscle training. His many workout partners will attest to his plentiful knowledge in the gym, and this knowledge can still be accessed through the vlogs he created with his friend on youtube. Parker was a great skier as well, an activity he enjoyed with his uncle jake. They frequented winterplace ski resort and canaan valley ski resort together.
While living in morgantown, parker loved to spend time socializing and tailgating with his aunt lillie. He also enjoyed smoking cigars from all over the world with his paw pat and his uncle jake, moments they will keep close to their heart forever.
Parker was very talented artistically. He loved photography, a hobby he regularly practiced. With his camera, he also took videos of his friends skateboarding and made them into short films. In addition to his workout vlogs, these films are also archived on youtube. He was a naturally gifted artist, especially in the realm of drawing. His elementary teachers at chamberlain noticed this at a very young age. His proficiency in so many activities at such a young age will always impress those who loved him.
His relationship with his mother, aleshia dailey, was one of unending love. She was more than just a mother to him. They were best friends who spent countless hours talking and sharing hopes and plans for the future. She was his biggest fan when it came to his artistic and athletic ventures. She encouraged him to find his place in the world.
The hours of laughter that they shared will always remain one of her most treasured memories. He was her first born and only son, and the sudden loss has changed her forever.
Parker was a loving son to his father, anthony weekley. He thoroughly enjoyed the special time he spent with him. This included activities like hunting, fishing, hiking the appalachian trail, and sitting together by a campfire.
Parker was a wonderful older brother to his three sisters. He enjoyed a typical brother-sister relationship with emma and georgie weekley that was filled with bickering, picking on each other, and copious amounts of love. When it came to brooklyn dailey, parker’s youngest sister, he was her biggest fan. He loved to brag about her athletic accomplishments and they often spent their downtime playing video games together. He also shared many laughs and stories with his stepfather, christian dailey.
Parker’s relationship with his aunt, lillie jacobs, and his uncle, jake jacobs, was special. Having grown up together, the three were essentially siblings. He is survived by his maternal grandparents, pat and rhonda jacobs, his great-grandmother, betty hill, and his aunt, krista jacobs, all of charleston. Parker is also survived by dr. Anne jacobs, his grandaunt, of cleveland, oh.
Additionally, he is survived by his paternal grandmother, glenda weekley of salem, his uncle roger weekley of salem, and his aunt sandi davis and family of pine grove, pa.
Parker’s many friends across the state of west virginia and beyond will miss him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, joseph weekley, and his uncle, steven weekley, as well as his maternal great – grandfather, ronald hill.
A service will be held to celebrate parker’s life on monday, may 21, from 6 to 8 p.M. At sleepy hollow golf club in hurricane, wv.
