Obituary
Alma fisher coffman, 91, of sissonville, passed away on saturday, december 26, 2015 at camc general hospital, charleston.
She was born on december 22, 1924 to the late ernie mckee and o.G. Fisher.
Talma was an elementary school teacher at wallace heights elementary school and retired from the kanawha county board of education.
she was a member of aldersgate united methodist church, sissonville, where she had been a sunday school teacher and past president of the women’s society.
She considered the church as part of her family and faith sustained her throughout life.
Talma was a graduate of sissonville high school and west virginia state university.
Additionally, talma was a member of the eastern star, south charleston and the woman’s club of sissonville.
In retirement talma loved traveling with her husband. both of them valued education and were proud to help provide a college education for their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, jesse j. Coffman.
She is survived by her daughters, janie (marshall) bailey of sissonville and barbara (roger) waldeck of hot springs, va; sister, thelmarine shamblin of washington, d.C.; grandchildren, jack and aaron bailey, lee waldeck and amy walton; great-grandchildren, alexander, ethan, campbell and asher bailey, forrest and hunter waldeck, logan, ben and erin walton.
Memorial service will be 2 p.M. Wednesday, december 30, 2015 at aldersgate united methodist church, 6823 sissonville drive, sissonville with rev. Loretta isaiah officiating. visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the service at the church.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations may be made in memory of talma to: aldersgate united methodist church, 6823 sissonville drive, sissonville, wv 25312.
