God’s Garden
God looked around his garden
And found an empty place,
He then looked down upon the earth
And saw your tired face.
He put his arms around you
And lifted you to rest.
God’s garden must be beautiful
For He always takes the best.
He saw the road was getting rough
And the hills were hard to climb,
So He closed your weary eyes
And Whispered, “Peace be Thine”
It broke our hearts to lose you,
But you didn’t go alone,
For a part of us went with you

Taylor B. Koon, 29, of Charleston, WV, fell into her savior’s hands on May 17, 2023, after a very long struggle with Type 1 diabetes, with her family by her side.

She graduated from Capital High School in 2011.

Taylor is survived by her parents, Guy ad Teresa Koon; sister, Sydney Koon; brother, Matthew Koon; grandmother, Margaret Snodgrass; Allie Belle Rutherford and JoLee Hudson, who she claimed as her little sisters; her aunts, uncles, and cousins, and all of her many friends.

Most of all, she is survived by the love of her life, Nathan Hudson, who was always by her side every step of the way through her difficult struggles. When Taylor was in the hospital and Nathan would walk into her room with flowers in both hands, she would light up like a Christmas tree! He was always there for her, during the happy times and the difficult times. Nathan and Taylor truly loved each other.

Taylor was preceded in death by her grandparents, Roland and Violet Koon, and Marvin “Junior” Elswick.

A BIG “Thank You” to Nathan’s 99-year-old grand paw, Edwin Brown; Nathan’s parents, Gary and Kathy Hudson; and Nathan’s daughter, JoLee, for all of their support.

The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the wonderful nurses and doctors at CAMC Memorial Hospital Open Heart Recovery unit and to the caring staff at Fresenius Kidney Care, on Chesterfield Avenue, Charleston.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, June 24, 2023, at Kanawha State Forest, Shelter #3, with Pastor Mark Hunter officiating. Please bring a covered dish to share.
