Obituary

Terry Miller, 76, of South Charleston, WV, passed away peacefully at home after a long illness. He was surrounded by his loved ones.

 He was born on November 23, 1949, in Spurlockville, WV, to Dorsey and Jewell (Pauley) Miller. A 1970 graduate of Duval High School, he was a dragline operator on Big John at Hobet Mining in Boone County before retiring with over 30 years of service.

 He was preceded in death by his parents; two wives, Carolyn Miller and Beverly (Igo) Miller; sisters, Connie Miller and Lana (Miller) Barnes, and two special pet dogs, Sweetie and Shadow.

 Terry is survived by his siblings, Naomi Pauley of Emerald Isle, North Carolina; Pam Gaylor (Bob) of Charleston; Ricky “Rags” Miller of Alkol; Jayne Woods (Keith) of Campbell’s Creek; Joan Kaiser (Gary) of Marmet; son, William Miller; stepson, Ron Solt Jr. of St. Albans; step daughters, Molly Birckhead of Dunbar, WV, Melissa Pauley (William) of South Charleston, WV, Amy Chandler (Kenneth) of Pennsylvania, and Bethany Sosa of New York;  grandsons, Terry Lee Solt and Dakota Miller; brother-in-law, David Barnes of Warsaw, Kentucky; nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews, and loved ones … too many to mention.

 Terry loved working on anything mechanical, especially cars and engines of any kind. He enjoyed spending time in the garage with his brother, Rags. Long before everything was powered by battery, he adapted his gas-powered lawnmower to battery power. He also enjoyed hunting deer and turkey while staying at his hunting cabin years ago. 

 Barlow Bonsall Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
