Obituary
Terry Saran Peterson passed away on July 22, 2024, with loved ones by her side. She was 69 years old.
After a long battle with cancer, it would be wrong to say that Terry lost her battle because she never stopped fighting. No matter how sick she was, she was always determined. When anyone else would have broken, Terry stayed strong. Through her, we know what resilience and perseverance truly look like. There was no quit in Terry. Just because she is no longer here, it doesn’t mean she lost her fight.
Terry was born in Charleston, WV, on August 21, 1954, to Doris and Hobert Slaughter. She was a lifelong resident of St. Albans and graduated from St. Albans High School. After graduating she took a position with The State of West Virginia from which she retired after many years of employment.
She enjoyed shopping, cooking and football and was a diehard Dallas Cowboys fan. Most of all she loved spending time with her family at cookouts and on holidays.
She is survived by her only son Richard “Rick” Eggleton, his Wife Samantha, granddaughters Savannah Withrow and Kaitlyn Evergreen, great-granddaughters Delaney Evergreen and Tuesday Desonia as well as her best friend and cousin Brenda Slaughter-Allen.
At Terry’s request there will be no formal service or memorial. Her ashes will be scattered at a future date.
Condolences may be sent to the family at www.barlowbonsall.com
Barlow Bonsall Funeral Home, Charleston, has been entrusted with the arrangements.
