Obituary

Tony Curtis Walker, 65, of Charleston, WV, earned his wings on Sunday, February 18, 2024, at CAMC Memorial, surrounded by family and close friends.

He is the son of the late Rufus Green Jr. and Joan (Thomas) Green. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers and sisters Fatima, Lisa, Kenneth and John; and longtime companion, Diane “Goldie” Taylor.

Tony is survived by his son, Tony Rush and wife Brandi; brothers and sisters, Rufus Green, Steve Green, Sharon Fitch, Pam Thomas, Anthony Green, and Angie Walker; grandchildren, Kamari, Tony Rush Jr., Ta’Leia, Ka’Lil, Tyhir, and Khari; close friends, Doc Evans and Bill, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Tony had a great love for his family and many friends. He also enjoyed football, having played in junior and senior high school while at Thomas Jefferson and Charleston High School. This love of football continued throughout his life. He and Bill shared many afternoons cheering on and watching their favorite team, the Pittsburgh Steelers, on television.

Memorial service will be held on Tony’s birthday, April 2, 2024. As the service date nears, this obituary will be updated to include the time and location of the service.
