Obituary
Tracy Jesse Grimmett, 87, of Madison North Carolina, formally of Mallory WV went home to be with the Lord Thursday, September 1, 2022 of a sudden illness. He was born on August 11, 1935, in Mallory, WV. Tracy was the son of the late Jesse Grimmett and the late Estella (Grimmett) Stephens.
Tracy enjoyed spending time with family, reading the Bible watching baseball, and joking with everyone he encountered. Tracy was a proud UMWA member and a coal miner of 35 plus years.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers: Herbert “Peanut” Grimmett, David Stephens, and Michael Stephens.
Tracy is survived by his children: Tracy Grimmett Jr. (Francis) Grimmett of Mallory WV, Carolyn Grimmett of Mallory ,WV, April (Harold) White of Peytona, WV, Michael (Rebeka) Grimmett of Madison, NC., brothers: James A. Grimmett of Bruno, Donald (Sandy) Grimmett of Fayetteville, NC, Larry (Carolyn) Grimmett of Gallipolis, OH, Dickie (Charlene) Stephens of Mallory, WV, sisters: Edith Cox of Taplin, WV Brenda (Charlie) Williamson of Bruno, WV, grandchildren: Tonya (Michael) Thompson of Mallory, WV James (Amanda) Grimmett of McCalla, AL Michael Cook of Rossmore, WV, Cayla Cook of Bell, WV, Brittany (Tyler) Grimmett of Madison, NC, Daniel (Bradyn) Grimmett of Madison, NC., Great-Grandchildren: Ciara (Trey) Grimmet of Mallory, WV, Alivia Morgan of McCalla, AL, Elexus (Zack) Havis of Mallory, WV, Madelene Graley, Hailynn Ellison, Irelynn Ellison of Bell, WV, and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
A memorial service will be held at the Mallory Church of God on Saturday, September 10th. The family will receive friends starting at 11pm and the service will follow at 12pm. Rev. Shawn Walker, Rev. Lacy Cox Jr. and Bishop Kenneth Daniels will be officiating
An additional memorial service will be held at Redemption Point Church in Madison, North Carolina on September 25th. The family will receive friends starting at 3pm and the service will follow at 4pm.
