Obituary

Violet marie frederick, 96, of charleston, passed away peacefully in her sleep, at her home, on friday, july 31, 2015.

She was born on november 2, 1918 in aliquippa, pennsylvania to the late panfilo and angelina defelice.

Violet was a homemaker, devote a catholic and member of the basilica of the co-cathedral of the sacred heart, charleston.

She loved music and dancing.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, anthony j. Frederick; three brothers and three sisters.

She is survived by her son, gilbert b. Frederick and his wife, brenda; daughter, toni m. Defade and her husband, philip; grandchildren, damen, jason and wendy frederick hersman (eric); brian and jad defade; great-grandchildren, elizabeth frederick, alexis frederick, colt hersman, haley, hayden and grady defade; as well as several nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to extend a special thanks to the many friends, especially, hospice care, beverley taylor, teresa sanders, judy bush and kristen mccallister, who helped to make violet’s later years as vital and happy as those special years she reminisced about, so often.

A private family graveside service will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers ““ the family suggests donations may be made in memory of violet to: kanawha/charleston animal shelter and/or kanawha hospice care.
