Obituary

Virginia “ginny” denning, 93, of charleston, west virginia, passed away on july 14, 2015. She was preceded in death by her husband ralph s. Denning and three sisters, cordelia bradshaw, helen huff, and betty white. She is survived by her children, cynthia thompson (david), nancy hammer (brad), and david denning (kathy); four grandchildren, brian and travis thompson, kristen denning holmes (alan), stanley hammer (catherine); one great grandson, austin denning holmes; and two sisters, dorothy salser of charleston and patricia marrs of melbourne, florida.

Ginny became a member of the charleston baptist temple in 1950. She was active in women’s circle, bible study, serving as a greeter, and arranging flowers to be taken to hospitals. She was involved in her children’s education serving as homeroom mother and co-president of the kanawha elementary school pta with her husband. Ginny was a brownie scout leader and also served as treasurer of her garden club. She was a member of allied artists where she served as treasurer. She exhibited many years in the rhododendron art and craft festival where she received several awards for her paintings. She was passionate about art and completed a miniature floral watercolor the day before she died and a watercolor of an alligator for her great grandson’s third birthday. She felt painting was the greatest hobby one could have.

Our mother deeply appreciated the cards, flowers, phone calls, and visits from her church family.

Words cannot express our heartfelt gratitude for the loving care and support of brenda jones, our mother’s caregiver . Our family also feels deep appreciation for other caregivers who attended to her with kindness and compassion.

A celebration of her life will be held in the chapel at the charleston baptist temple at 11:00 am on monday, july 27, 2015. The family will greet visitors one hour before the service.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests a memorial donation to the charleston baptist temple shelter ministry or the music and arts ministry.

    Hello,

My Name Is Tashea. I Did Not Know Mrs. Denning Personally But I Know How Hard It Can Be To Lose A Loved One In Death. I Have Experienced The Pain That Comes From Losing Someone Close To Me So My Heart Moves Me To Share With Others What Has Helped Me To Cope At Such A Difficult Time.

I First Want To Say That I Am Very Sorry For Your Loss. I Do Not Know If You Are A Bible Reader Or Not And I Hope I Do Not Offend Anyone, But The Scripture That Has Given Me Comfort Is The One Found At 2 Corinthians 1: 3, 4. It Says, “Praised Be The God And Father Of Our Lord Jesus Christ, The Father Of Tender Mercies And The God Of All Comfort Who Comforts Us In All Our Trials So That We May Be Able To Comfort Others In Any Sort Of Trial With The Comfort That We Receive From God.” I Would Like To Share With You The Comfort I Have Received From God. He Promises At John 5: 28, 29 That “The Hour Is Coming In Which All Those In The Memorial Tombs Will Hear His Voice And Come Out, Those Who Did Good Things To A Resurrection Of Life, And Those Who Practiced Vile Things To A Resurrection Of Judgment.” So God Has Promised That In The Very Near Future We Will Not Only Welcome Back To Life Our Loved Ones We Have Lost, But We Will Also Never Have To Experience The Pain Associated With Death Ever Again. I Pray That This Gives The Family Some Comfort During This Difficult Time. If You Need Anything Or Would Like To Know More About What The Bible Says About The Future, Feel Free To Contact Me. Have A Great Day.

Please Accept My Sincere Condolences For The Loss Of Your Loved One. This Is One Of The Most Difficult Things We Must Face In This Life. The Bible Assure Us At Psalms 34:18 ” That God Is Near To Those Broken In Heart”. He Also Promise That We Will Be Able To Be Reunited With Our Loved Ones Again. John 5:28&29 Tells Of A Wonderful Hope. Just Think One Day We Will Never Have To Lose Our Loved Ones. You Can Read These Scripture Online At Www.Jw.Org
