Obituary
Vivian Monroe Lowe, 66, of Charleston, WV, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 11, 2026, after a long illness, with her husband and friends by her side.
Vivian was a graduate of Stonewall Jackson High School and proud West-sider. She grew up and was baptized at Grace Covenant Presbyterian, a church her father and grandfather helped to build. Near the end of her life’s journey, she visited with a preacher and was anointed.
Vivian was very creative and enjoyed drawing and photography. She was very giving and loved gathering with friends at the family camp in Clay County. Vivian was always ready for a good time. Her dad taught her the love of fishing that she kept with her always.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul James “Jim” and Rosemary (Wehrle) Monroe, and sister-in-law, Susan Skinner Monroe.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Kenneth “Paco” Lowe; stepchildren, Tuesdae (Barry) Eickholt of Delphis, OH, Leah Lowe (Cedric) of South Charleston, WV, Kenneth “Kenner” (Brittany) Lowe II of Winfield; nine step grandchildren; brother, Paul James (Yolanda) Monroe II of Sissonville, and nephew, Paul James “PJ” Monroe III of Knoxville, TN; brother, Cameron “Cam” Monroe, and nephew, Adam of Charleston, and sister, Malina (Kevin) Burdette of Charleston, and step nephews, Sean, Brandon, and Jeremy Burdette.
The family would like to thank the ICU staff at Thomas Hospital, Hubbard
Hospice House of Charleston, and special friend and caregiver Pam Street and family.
Vivian’s zest for life, love of friends and family and the fondness of the ocean and Elk River, will always be remembered by all who knew her.
She is being cremated, and her ashes will be made into an eternal reef to be placed in the Atlantic Ocean in Myrtle Beach and another in the Elk River.
A celebration of Vivian’s life will be planned at a later date.
