Obituary

Wanda Carole Mitchell Hamblin passed away on November 7, 2021. Wanda was born on April 13, 1954 to George and Frances Mitchell of Charleston.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Frances; her brothers, James and Charles (“Bucky’) and sister, Eileen.
She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Denver Hamblin; son, Jason (Kristin) Hamblin; daughter, Tammy Almond; grandchildren, Codey (Maria), Taylor, Jorja, Keyton, Samantha, Anna, Gauge; and great-grandson Colt; plus several nieces, nephews, and brothers and sisters in law.
She lived in Charleston her entire life and graduated from Stonewall Jackson High School. Wanda worked for more than 17 years for the State of West Virginia and retired in 2014. She loved her family and her grandchildren more than anything in this world and was a very kind and loving friend to many. Wanda had an eye for things of value, whether it was something of sentimental value or one of the many antiques that she collected throughout the years. She will be missed by those who knew and loved her.
It was her wishes to be cremated and to not have a funeral.

So sorry to hear of her passing, she was always the friendliest customer and caring enough to ask how the kids are doing and wanting to see pictures of them. Not many people with hearts as big as hers left. God bless her & the surviving family, may the lord bring comfort in this time of mourning.

  2. We are so sorry we are going to miss you very much

  3. My heart is broken to hear of Wanda’s passing. She and I were best friends throughout high school. I have a lot of very special memories of some of our antics. She had a heart of gold as did her entire family. Kindness always prevailed at her house. Please accept my sincerest sympathy.
