Veronica Sue Argento, 59, was born April 9, 1963, and was a lifelong Mountaineer. She was called home to heaven October 5, 2022. She passed peacefully at home in Charleston, WV, surrounded by her family.

She is survived by her husband, John, and their children, Sarah Argento and Michael Argento, and her brother, Eric Vincent. She was preceded in death, and now joins in heaven, her mother, Karen Vincent, grandmother, Emma Meredith, and mother-in-law, Lorretta Mae Argento.

Veronica was a devout Christian. She lived her faith daily as a strong influence on those in her life. Veronica was a graduate of Fairmont State University with a degree in education. She taught at Valley High School in Fayette County for 36 years. She was beloved by her many students as a teacher, coach, mentor, supporter, friend, and so much more. After retiring in 2019, Veronica enjoyed trips to her happy place, Disney World, along with spending quality time with her family and beloved dog Bella.

Veronica was a gentle, kind, and loving soul. Those who knew Veronica knew the deep love she had for her family and the love her family shared with her. She was a bright light in this world and shared her love and herself with so many. Her love was unconditional and complete, and lives on in all of us.

  1. My wife Terry and I want to express our sincerest sympathy to Veronica’s family for this great loss. Veronica was always pleasant with a big smile and laugh. She would literally light up the room with her presence. Her love for animals was very noticeable and thus the candle we chose to honor her memory for that. May she rest in Peace

I’m so very sorry for your loss. Veronica was a beautiful soul!

  3. Veronica truly was one of the most sweetest, kind hearted, supportive and loving individual I have ever met in my entire life. Veronica epitomized the true meaning of looking at your life with “a glass is half full rather than the glass is half empty” approach. She would always see the glimmer of light in a most dark situation. I met her in 1988 when my husband and I stayed with them for my first official family reunion. Immediately you felt her warmth, kindness and sweetness which matched her outer beauty. Her laughter and smile would make everyone around her smile and laugh as well. Through the years of marriage, children and staying with them when in town with our family and continuing on the tradition of the younger “cousins” becoming close like we the parents by doing vacations together made Veronica very happy. Veronica wasn’t just a teacher in the sense of what people think of but a true teacher in the sense of what you think of with Jesus. Like Him Veronica lived and taught her faith and values by actions and words. Truly lifting up those that needed it , turning the other cheek and always, always being there whenever. To love Veronica was easy because she radiated just that. My heart is breaking for John, Sarah, Michael and the rest of the Argento family as well as the extended Lopez family. We have lost a “one of a kind” individual and it’s a tremendous loss for anyone that Veronica touched. We are all better for having this lovely soul in our our lives. God keep and bless you V.
